Notice
This section, Fortifications, as with my entire website, is an ongoing project.
It is meant to show my interest in the Defence of Canterbury and the West Coast.
As you will see it is based on what remains today that can be visited as opposed
to a historical article.
Whilst I have added historical notes, as applicable most of the research is my
own. However, owing to restrictions on copying Archival information I have in a
few instances used other groups, organisations or authors material. In every
instance I have recognised that organisation or author as either References or
